Kip Allen is a dedicated touring/recording drummer and percussionist based in Nashville TN. His versatile, groove orientated, tight drumming is the sound behind every record and every show he has been on. Extremely passionate yet very humble are only a couple of his traits.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Kip began playing drums in 6th grade and continued during his years at Aledo and Colleyville High Schools. He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University. He now studies commercial percussion at Belmont on top of traveling, and playing drums with Devin Dawson, Paul Childers and the Black Tie Affair, Forest Fire Gospel Choir, Alex Boyé and Baylor Wilson just to name a few.
Kip’s accolades include playing in the Texas All-Region Jazz Band, playing for Mitt Romney in Arizona to a crowd of 8000 people and also appeared on USA Today, Fox News, ABC News, and other late night television shows, playing for the Miss USA Pageants and playing in the PHNX Ensemble at Belmont University. Kip also produces and engineers music as well recording drums in some of the most famous studios in Nashville such as, Ocean Way, RCA Studio B, County Q, Brown Owl, Quonset Hut, CLA Studios, and Catch This Music Studios. Throughout his time so far in Nashville, he has played over 200 shows all over the country and can be heard on numerous recordings of many different styles such as Country, Rock, Folk, Pop, Metal, Jazz, Latin, and Christian Rock.
